In the spirit of spindle whorls,
danSING salmon
proudly proclaiming pollution
is not going to drive them to extinction
as the teleological circle
of the earth spins
around the circle of the sun
The wooden wheel
of ancient Mesopotamia
spins into the wheel
of Western Culture

Spins dizzily into thunderbird spindle whorls
as wheels
of a truck
driven by a drunk
and driving
truck driver
crashing on the Malahat
Spilling oil
