Artist Statement: ARTIST’S STATEMENT

This Coast Salish design is a protest against dEATh, and a celebration of lIFe and transformation. Transformation is at the core of Coast Salish beliefs. We do not have a God, a dEVIL, a Creator, or a Trickster. We have The Transformer. Hence this design depicts The Transformer transforming the lIFe of a salmon into the lIFe of an eagle.
