Artist Statement: This contemporary Coast Salish design depicts two salmon with a salmon egg in between them. The two salmon heads represent the parents of the salmon egg. The negative spaces of two salmon heads contain the same transPARENT color as the salmon egg, symbolizing the transferring of vitality from one generation to the next.
