Artist Statement: This contemporary Coast Salish design depicts eight salmon heads in a square, each sharing fOUR mouths. We all brEAThe the same air. The salmon are symbols of sustenance. Out of respect for the Salmon People, we need to give back to nature for what we consume. We live in a world with an increasing human population and depleting natural resources.
