Artist Statement: Salmon Boy
This mask tells the story of a boy in the village who did not respect the salmon. As punishment, the elders tossed him into the ocean and made him live with the salmon for a year. When he returned to the village, he was half salmon and half boy and had gained much respect for his traditional food.
