Artist Statement: While doing this rattle, it was so amazing how it all came together. All the pieces just fell into place like it was meant to be.
I picked the blue heron for its majestic beauty. They can look so awkward yet they are so graceful. They are so still and so patient. They move so gracefully.
One day while I was walking outside, a blue Heron flew by and flew right into an electrical line and then flew away. When it hit the wire, some of its feathers came falling down. What an amazing gift. In our culture, it is believed that when these magic things happen, you are given the healing energies from the animal. These energies stay with you until you no longer need them and the lesson has been learned.
