Artist Statement: "Back in the mid '70s, I would go up to Alert Bay in June to attend potlatches and play soccer. Alert Bay is the home of the very proud Nimpkish people. While walking by the graveyard, I would look at all the beautiful totem poles looking out over the strait. I would imagine what it would be like if I were a bird. It all seemed so beautiful and peaceful."
