Artist Statement: "[Gegeya] originally was a legend by a guy from Woodlark Island. Every time [he] goes out to the river he listens to a snake, a spirit snake who lives next to a very big tree. He collected a song and brought it back to the village. Here he sat around with others to come up with the dance called Gegeya."
