Artist Statement: "In Trobriand society, before the happy harvest times there are broken homes; afterwards, you see people bringing families back together. Sometimes there have been fights between people and villages, but after this [celebration]- we call it wasus- people start coming back where families and communities are brought back to live in peace and harmony. So this is a powerful thing."
