ARTIST’S STATEMENT

In this contemporary Coast Salish design, the round salmon egg in the center symbolizes a natural, healthy diet, a traditional Coast Salish diet in some way comparable to contemporary organic foods. The square shape of the design symbolizes the ARTificial chemicals and preservatives in modern foods. A traditional Coast Salish diet was much more healthy than a modern diet.
