Valerie Morgan (b. 1961) moved to the Skeena River district to attend the Kitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Indian Art. Valerie completed a three-year programme that included woodcarving, jewellery engraving and leather working. She now resides in Kitwanga, BC where she has been adopted into the Frog Clan. For more than a decade, Morgan has been creating clothing in suede and leather, incorporating traditional and contemporary designs and methods. She is a very gifted carver and specializes in narrative masks.
