Jason Pat
Kwakwaka'wakw
Jason Gilbert Pat (b. 1973) was born in the small community of Alert Bay, BC. Jason, the youngest son of Gilbert and Frances Pat, soon became immersed in the unique art of silver carving because of his father’s talent.
Jason was six years old when he and his family moved to the southern tip of Vancouver Island residing in Victoria, BC. Jason continued his education and received his graduation diploma from Belmont Secondary in June of 1992.
It was just prior to this period in his life when Jason made his first impression on silver carving. Under his father's teaching, and with his own innate gift, Jason soon progressed from the more fundamental work to complex, intrinsic designs.
Upon high school graduation, Jason became entirely focused on his art. Today Jason continues to develop and improve his skill, making silver jewellery carving a full time occupation.
