Ken Mowatt (b. 1944), in Hazelton, BC. He is of Gitksan ancestry, a member of the House of Djokaslee (Frog Crest). Ken first started to work with Northwest Coast art in 1970. He studied at the 'Ksan School and later became an instructor there in silk-screening and woodcarving.
He has a deep sense of the spirituality of his people, which he eloquently expresses in his graphic work. He has taken traditional concepts and given them a contemporary imagery, in both his wood and printmaking. Ken has work in private, corporate and public collections in North America and Europe.
