Silas Haluai
Iatmul Yamok Village,
Silas Haluai is an artist from Yamok Village. He learned traditional carving techniques from his father, however, Silas is a mastercarver best known for innovation. He likes to carve imagery inspired by village life. He says 'I am a modern artist. I carve what I see around me in the village.'
