Andrew Busha
Palembei Village,
Born in 1942 Andrew Busha is a master carver from Palembei Village. He was taught by Wakaikame and has consistently created remarkable works of art for the past 30 years.
His carvings, inspired by traditional myth are a reflection of his strong connection to the ceremonial life which still revolves around tne Men's Ceremonial House. Andrew Busha can be seen in the documentary film Killerwhale and Crocodile, where he demonstrates his remarkable skill on the garamut drum, when he participated in the welcome ceremony for Salish artist John Marston during his visit to Papua New Guinea in 2006.
