Silas Haluai is an artist from Yamok Village. He learned traditional carving techniques from his father, however, Silas is a mastercarver best known for innovation. Mothers with their babies, children playing and whimsical animal figures are a few of the themes he chooses. His work is represented in galleries in Australia, Canada and Europe.
