Belden Minjan is the youngest member of a family of renowned carvers. Belden was born in Palembei Village in 1979 and has been carving for ten years. Working in the family tradition, he developed a particular style uniquely his own at an early age which, while based in tradition, shows much originality. He has been trained by his father and older brothers, his work frequently reflecting contemporary life in the village. His work is represented in private collections in Australia, Canada and the United States.
