Grace Reid is a Jirrbal woman of the Davidson area. Grace is a skilled weaver and maker of traditional objects, in particular the bagu with jiman (firemaker). Her immersion in traditional culture from childhood has meant that she has a wonderful sense of shape and form, which has extended into the creation of more contemporary objects in recent years. Grace is an emerging sculptor and ceramicist. Her work is inspired by and has its origins in the traditions and environment of her rainforest Aboriginal ancestors.
