Hesquiaht / Nuu Chah Nulth


Tim Paul learned carving skills at the Arts of the Raven Gallery, in Victoria in 1975. He then assisted Richard Hunt in the Royal British Columbia Museum's carving programme at Thunderbird Park in Victoria. Since 1976, Tim Paul has been a senior carver at the Royal British Columbia Museum. In addition to being a talented carver, Tim Paul is a gifted graphic artist. He has released limited edition silkscreen prints that have as their subject matter various legends of Nuu Chah Nulth culture. Tim also paints in acrylic. Whatever the medium, Tim Paul's work is characterized by a high level of skill and originality. Tim is dedicated to upholding traditions of his culture through his teaching in addition to his work as an artist.
