In the time of year between October and March, easterly winds stir up the ocean, cleansing it and rejuvenating marine life. Most of the species breed which allows for the continuation of each species for the future. This, however, attracts the bigger fish, such as sharks, and a variety of birds, who find this time of year easy for feasting. Fishermen follow the birds- seagulls and pelicans- to these breeding spots. The fishermen must be mindful of the shark, guardian of the ocean, who keeps life there in balance. The fishermen realize that this time of year is a blessing and ensure they do not over-fish. There are numerous ceremonial events that occur during this time, as the likelihood of catching fish is greater.
