Artist Statement: This is my Great Grandmother Jenny Cardinal (Littlechild). Her first husband, Metis man by the name of Charles Gouin was murdered in the Frog Lake massacre of 1885, so she is famous in a historical sense.

She then remarried ALexander Littlechild, my great grandfather. The baby’s eyes are closed – this one passed away.
