In some First Nations cultures, and in some Coast Salish cultures, owls are beLIEved to be dEATh's messengers. To some people, this may seem to be a bit ominous, but to many Coast Salish people, dEATh is an accepted part of lIFe. When a person dies, their body is recycled by the circle of the earth. When a person dies, they leave room and resources on earth for another unborn person
to live.

in this design
the bLACK
is the dark
of dEATh

while the white
is the light
of lIFe
