Artist Statement: The adornments on this miniature hat show the handiwork of the spider and the slug. Spider wove itself a web, which became the pattern on the crown of the hat. Not to be outdone, slug zig-zagged its way around the brim of the hat, and created the pattern that is now visible.
The edge of the brim is comprised of six strands, giving it a very strong finish.
