Christian Arami, a mastercarver originally from Kambot Village, on the Sepik River has been long renowned for his carvings of model canoes and crew all carved in one piece. In this work he departs from that tradition and represents the paddlers as pegged, jointed figures actively pursuing their fishing activities.
