Reg Davidson & Don Yeomans: A Serigraph Retrospective

Reg Davidson & Don Yeomans:
A Serigraph Retrospective
February 16th – March 29th

Alcheringa Gallery presents “Reg Davidson & Don Yeomans : A Serigraph Retrospective”, featuring the extraordinary creativity of two acclaimed Haida artists spanning four decades.

As trailblazers during a period that some have labelled ‘ a golden age’ of Northwest Coast printmaking Davidson and Yeomans were able to revitalize traditional design elements and introduce new way of executing formline. With an attitude that held both reverence for the tradition but also a desire to playfully challenge it. As innovators, they pushed the envelope within the concepts of Haida tradition and illustrated how the formline can be seen in new ways.

Renowned artist Don Yeomans apprenticed under his aunt, Haida carver Freda Diesing and collaborated with many influential artists, including Bill Reid. Similarly, Reg Davidson was guided artistically by his father, Claude Davidson, chief of the village of Dadens, Haida Gwaii, and has worked with his brother and acclaimed artist, Robert Davidson on several projects.

We take great pleasure in offering this superb collection dating from the nineteen seventies. All works are in pristine condition.
