Solomon Islander Ake Lianga's third solo exhibition at Alcheringa Gallery concerns the ceremonial importance of sharks in the islands that compose his homeland. Ake is internationally recognized for his masterful interpretations of Solomon Islands mythology.

In preparation for his presentation this year to the Association for Social Anthropology in Oceania, Ake gave a detailed interview about his history, his art, and this exhibition; the transcript is available here.
