Artist's Statement

"I have been carving since 1998. I am one of the younger carvers. When I was very young, I carved a mask. My family thought it was very funny and that it didn't look like a mask at all. I cried and was very angry. After that, I put my rage into my carving and did well. I make a very good living as an artist.

"This carving is about fish, crocodile, and snake. There are a lot of legends about these creatures. These three are brothers: they all had the same mother and lived in the river."
