Details
This print represents Phil Gray’s mother and father’s ancestors. The eagle is his father’s side, Mikesew Cree from Northern Alberta, and the Killer Whale is his mother’s crest which was passed onto Phil. Tsimshian people have a matrilineal tie meaning that children take on the crests of their mother.
