Measuring 72” (183 cm) by 18” (46 cm), Missing Pieces is a limited edition serigraph that highlights the fractures, or tears, in the sacred web that Susan Point sees in the natural world among all forms of animal life. Incorporating images of different creatures, such as salmon, whales, and birds all linked together as part of a natural rhythm, the piece shows the impact of environmental damage and global warming as the gaps between the creatures appears. At one time the flow from one animal to the next was smooth and continuous, but now that familiar connection is eroding. “There is no doubt,” explains Point, “that in the future Mother Nature will find a way to fill the gaps, but in the meantime, I hope we can find a way to live in a way that is harmonious with nature and sets a constructive path for the next generations.
