Tribe: Nuu Chah NulthPatrick Amos (b.1957) was born in Friendly Cove on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, site of the first landing of Captain Cook. As a young boy, he moved to Victoria in order to attend school. Nuu Chah Nulth artist, Joe David, has been a strong influence on Amos, as was Tim Paul, the latter was at that time chief carver at the BC Provincial Museum in Victoria.
