T'lisalagi'lakw Canoe Bowl Here I show the son of the Sun, born a mink, kissing a blonde with a design of a spirit face on her hair. They sit in the stern of the canoe bowl controlling its course. A Tsonoqua (wild woman of the woods) wears a smile while engaging an eagle and a human with black hair. The interplay although suggestive is veiled and left to the viewer’s interpretation. The hull of the canoe is a reflection of a canoe bowl by Joe David, I trusted him as an authority on Nuu chah nulth canoe design. I find the curved line and relationship of this old design technique very erotic. Mervyn Child 2012
