Enquire about this Artwork

"This woman’s healing rattle represents the healing that women have to offer. Women are healers in many different ways. The rattles were used in healing ceremonies and were hereditary. The women were called for doing ceremonies such as name giving, blessing of the house, and cleansing of the house. The healing was only done when people requested it. The color red represents a healing colour in our culture. Red is also a colour of protection. The colour green represents mother earth and the nurturing ways that she looks after all of us. I made this rattle in the representation of women stepping into their power and standing up proud and tall and once again accepting their responsibility in the healing ceremonies." -Angela Marston
