Palpux Stone Hammer Many stone hammers feature this kind of treatment but are generally larger than this one. I designed this one to fit the hand so that it could be grasped just above the character encircling the base. The discussion around interpreting the relationship of the person grasping the hammer opens a wide range of ideas. It can be seen as a child holding his mother’s legs or could it be a man holding his erection or maybe a husband and his wife. All or any of these are valid interpretations. If used as a chisel hammer it fits the hand well and has a nice weight to it. Mervyn Child 2012
